Next (television program)

Next is an emission of American TV-reality , produced by Kallissa Productions. In each episode, a boy or a girl has appointment with five candidate (E) S on the basis of concept of Speed dating. So most of the time the candidates are heterosexuals, certain episodes put in scenes homosexual candidates .

Diffusion

Although Next was diffused at the origin on the chain MTV with the the United States, it is not in the same way everywhere throughout the world.

In France, the show was bought by the chain Europe 2 TV, and in Belgium it is on MCA that it is diffused. In these two countries, the program is doubled in French.

Principle of the emission

The applicants are hidden of the candidate to allure in the bus Next and leave only one there after the other, once its eliminated predecessor. Each go begin with a small clip from presentation from the principal candidate, the five applicants being shown just afterwards. They wait all aboard bus placed at a place determined in advance which is used as place of appointment. At the time or each candidate will get out of the bus, one will be entitled to a small description of the person and the date begins. Constantly, generally when the discussion starts to become tedious, unpleasant or that something disturbs the candidate to be allured, this one shouts " Next" , then the applicant is eliminated, receiving 1$ for each minute passed apart from the bus.

At any time, the principal candidate can propose a second interview with his applicant. That can accept and thus make a cross on its accumulated dollars, or refuse and keep the money previously gained. The emission finishes when all the applicants were eliminated or when an applicant sees himself proposing the second go

It is not rare that the candidates pass to the following applicants hardly those posed the foot outside. In an episode, a candidate eliminated the first four girls and at the end of one minute spent with the claiming last, he proposed a second to him go. Confronted with the choice to gain only one dollar or to give a second interview, she chose the second meeting.

Comments and small clips of the applicants and the candidate to be allured are shown during the emission.

Several applicants appear more once in various episodes but under a name and an age changed. The five applicants remain hidden in the bus Next. Then, it is to the unmarried candidate to meet the applicants successively.

If the first seasons introduce only American candidates, national versions will be proposed soon in various countries, in France in particular.

Adaptation

Europe 2 TV, which diffuses the emission in France, will program an adaptation produced by Christophe Dechavanne as from September 2007.
