sci.crypt

It is read by approximately 100000 people in the world. The majority of the messages are incomprehensible or of the squabbles, or even both; some are politicized and the remainder consists of requests for basic information and questions. Sometimes, of new and invaluable information are posted in this newsgroup.

Information about secret algorithms was posted on sci.crypt, such as for example RC2, RC4 and Khufu and Khafre. Other codings, more doubtful like the Iraqi Coding and S-1 (allegedly still secret Skipjack then) were also published via these media.
