News-Sweden
The News-Sweden ( Nya Sverige in Swedish) was a small Swedish colony located in North America, on the Atlantic coast, with the mouth of the Delaware. It belonged to the colonial empire Swedish. Founded in March 1638, it was annexed by the New-Country-Low in September 1655.
It was centered on Fort Christina, maintaining in Wilmington, with the Delaware and included/understood territories today in the states of Delaware, the New Jersey and the Pennsylvania. Beside Swedish, one found many colonists Finnish or Dutch.
List governors
The official residence of the governors of the Sweden News was Fort Christina except for Johan Björnsson Printz which elected residence on the island of the News-Gothenburg.
