Newport Beach ( The O.C. ) is a American Televised series in 92 42 minutes episodes, created by Josh Schwartz and diffused August 5th 2003 with the February 22nd 2007 on the network FOX. In France, the series was diffused starting from the October 9th 2004 on France 2 and TF6, with the Quebec on Séries+ and VRAK.TV. In Belgium on Club RTL.
Synopsis
The Comté of Orange ( Orange County in English) is located on the Californian coast (in the south of Los Angeles). With Newport Beach, a community the fortunate ones does not weary pewters and private evenings.Raised in the disadvantaged districts of Chino, California, Ryan forever be likely to develop its talents and to exploit its very great intelligence. With a father in prison, a delinquent brother and an alcoholic mother drug addict, it does not have the head to try to leave itself the vicious circle in which it is plunged. Its life takes abrupt turning when he is accused for complicity in a flight of car organized by his brother who finds himself in prison. At this point in time it meets Sandy Cohen, lawyer of the legal aid, who sees in this teenager shining and blasé the young man that it had be formerly itself and which advises to him to fight for a better life.
After being put at the door by his/her mad mother, Ryan does not have anybody towards whom to turn itself. It then calls its lawyer who will lodge it during a few days in his immense house of the crested districts of Newport Beach. It will make there to the recontre very rich woman of Sandy, Kirsten and of Seth, the timid and solitary son of Cohen, which will take confidence in him in contact with Ryan. Saddened in front of the desperate plight of Ryan which is too old to be able to be integrated in a hearth of reception and yielding to the arguments of their son which bound of friendship with him, Sandy and her Kirsten wife decide to offer a second chance to him and become its legal guardians. In the rich and closed world of Newport Beach where loves, tears and treasons mix, the life of Ryan and Cohen will be upset forever.

- Bradley Stryker played Trey Atwood, it is the brother of Ryan.
- Samaire Armstrong played Anna Stern, an young woman who is a female version of Seth. It was to appear only for one episode, but the fans appreciated it so much that it returned thereafter. Its character left for Pittsburgh, but it appeared in the 3rd season.
- Bonnie Somerville played Rachel, a colleague of Sandy
- Rosalind Chao played Dr. Kim, the proviseure of the college of Ryan and Seth: Harbor.
- Navi Rawat (VF: Sylvie Jacob) played Theresa, a ex of Ryan, inhabitant has Chino.Elle made a child with Ryan, but it does not know it. They will be re-examined it and the baby in season 2.

- Jeri Ryan played Charlotte Morgan, a woman manipulator who tries to extort money from Kirsten.

- the series has being stopped in the United States because of the lack of audience and comprised only 4 seasons with only 16 episodes for the last, but 27 for the first season. It was diffused in France but was also stopped for lack of audience. The French version of the fourth season will be available on November 21st, 2007 and is diffused by TF6.

One counts with the number of the scenario writers of the series Allan Heinberg. The leaning one of Heinberg for the Comic S is regarded as the constant reason of the references to this industry in the series. The fans consider that it contributes to give an positive image of the comics, since one of the main characters, Seth Cohen, is obsessed by the comics. Heinberg also named a character according to the scenario writer Brian Michael Bendis, and made some preferred of Seth in the series. Heinberg is commonly credited as Co-creator with the series with Josh Schwartz. Heinberg contributed to create the rich person casting of characters very popular County Orange, like enriching the narration by the series.

the fourth and last season was done without Mischa Barton which left the series after the ultimate episode the third season. In spite of the bad audiences (due partly to the hard competition made up of Grey' S Anatomy and the Experts ), many fans regard this season as the revival of Newport Beach .
