The NWOBHM or New wave off british heavy metal is a term indicating the wave of groups of heavy metal English of the beginning of the Années 1980. The pioneers of this scene are Iron Maiden, Tygers off Side Tang, Angel Witch, Vardis, Diamond Head, Saxon, or Def Leppard.
The NWOBHM is characterized by fast solos of guitar, acute melody voices, and lyric topics often inspired by mythology, the fantastic fiction, as well as the occultism.
