The media expression new technologies relates to very evolutionary and various fields of the Technologie, just as easily being able to cover:

• in the broad sense, all the High technology;
• with the narrow direction, the news Technologies information and the communication (NTIC).

The NTIC gather the innovations carried out as regards the volume of storage and the speed of the data processing and its transport thanks to the numerical one and with the new means of telecommunications (fiberoptic, cable, satellites, wireless technologies). Their impact extends on multiple fields, in particular on our social lifestyle and our economy. The manufacturing sectors and of use of these new technologies acquire an increasing share of GDP of the developed and emergent economies, from where the concept of “new economy” or “economy of the knowledge”. That does not make disappear the traditional economy, but made knowledge and knowledge, key elements of economic competitiveness.

Any technology of course was necessarily new at the beginning of its history. Two technologies which were at one time " nouvelles" and modified the world deeply were the invention of the Zero by the mathematician " Al-Khawarizmi" and that of the Alphabetical classification by Jean de Gènes in 1286. It is it should be noted that they were both (already!) information technologies. Thus the technologies which generated major change in the world of technologies of electronics are: The Transistor and the Integrated circuit .
