New poetic Meditations
The new merits that one had admired in the poetic Méditations of Lamartine found in its Nouvelles poetic Meditations , with more richness in the form perhaps, with more voluptuous grace. Primarily spiritualistic, religious, with a sentimental heat which is eminently lyric, Lamartine, represented Nature largely, without any concern of descriptive exactitude, but like a very penetrated thing of heart, where its sympathy is melted and vanishes. The form of the Meditations , often soft and fluid, reached, when it is supported by a major feeling, strongest and more suave harmony.
