Comments

New York judicial police is, behind Simpson , the series having greatest longevity (17 seasons with its credit, Dick Wolf wishing to make it last at least 20 seasons to beat the American series " Gunsmoke" who lasted 20 seasons of 1955 to 1975), always in production on television American.

The ritual

Each episode of New York judicial police respects a ritual scrupulously:
  • the reading of hangs.
  • a prolog allowing to discover the victims of a murder or an attempted murder during which are presented to the televiewer the basic elements of the investigation of police force.
  • credits.
  • a first part consisting of the investigation of police force itself which generally leads to the arrest of one or more suspects.
  • a second part who proceeds in the environment of the courts, lawyers and the judges.

The “short phrase” of Lennie Briscoe

During every season when Jerry Orbach will interpret the role of the inspector Lennie Briscoe, the scenario writer will make him say the short phrase which concludes the prolog, whose characteristic is to be always a point of humor or sarcastic remark.
  • “I should have also crossed the toes. ”
  • “I bet that Sammy will not telephone to say that it is sick. perhaps”
  • “One did not arrive at the good moment but as a whole they have the rather sympathetic air. ”
