New York Masala

New York masala ( Kal Ho Naa Ho , in Hindi कलहोनाहो) is an Indian film carried out by Nikhil Advani and left in 2003 to India.

Synopsis

For Naina Catherine Kapur (Preity Zinta), Indian immigrant young person living with New York, the life is not very merry and never was it besides, since the death of his/her father. Between the constant squabbles inside her family, originating in the Punjab and with catholic half, the attentions which his/her little brother and his little sister require, the sudden changes of mood of her grandmother and the financial troubles of her mother (Jaya Bachchan) whom it tries to help as it can, the young girl does not have time for it. She never leaves and does not on the occasion to give pleasure. Naina is almost 24 years old, it is a very serious young girl and it is rather tedious. It only has for friendly Sweetu, the girlfriend boulotte who seeks hopelessly the prince charming and Rohit (Saif Ali Khan), the inveterate single person who dredges all those that he meets. At this point in time an young man, Aman Mathur (Shahrukh Khan), comes to settle in the vicinity, which makes the effect of a strong gale come from the broad one. He helps people to solve their problems and to face their uprooted existence and all are grateful to him. He also tries to help Naina, but the young girl irritates herself of what she regards as an intrusion in her private life…

  • Kal Ho Naa Ho is the third collaboration between Shahrukh Khan and Karan Johar. They worked together for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. But this time Karan Johar yielded its place of realizer to his associate Nikhil Advani who was director associated on two preceding films.

  • Kal Ho Naa Ho gained 7 prices in Filmfare Awards.

  • Kal Ho Naa Ho was presented to the Festival of Film of Berlin in the section “International Forum of the jungen Films” as to the Festival of film of Valencians 2004 during whom it gained the Price of the Public.
