New York City Rap
New York City Rap is the name of a European round (Paris, Berlin, London) organized by the radio Europe 1 in 1982 and which presented for the very first time to a public not-American of the Graffiti - artists, station-wagon-dancers, and rappeurs. Y took part: Phase 2, Dondi White, Futura 2000, Afrika Bambaataa, the Fearless 4, DST (art), the Rock'n'roll Steady Crew and their manager Kool Lady Blue, initiator of the project with Bernard Zekri, journalist with the Current magazine . Animation was ensured by Alain Maneval.
“Great the Parisian Rap night” proceeded with the Hippodrome of the door of Puppet saturdays November 27th 1982 with 20:00.
This event marks the true beginning of the culture Hip hop in France.
