New Territories
The Nouveaux Territories (in English New Territories ) is a sector of HongKong, in China. It includes/understands the territory between the peninsula of Kowloon and the Fleuve of Shenzhen, which delimits the border between HongKong and continental China. It includes/understands also the majority of the peripheral islands of HongKong including/understanding Lantau, island of LAMA, Cheung Chau, and Peng Chau.
The New Territories were rented by the Dynastie Qing with the the United Kingdom in 1898 for one ninety years duration under the second Convention of Beijing (convention for the prolongation of the territory of HongKong).
Their population in 2001 was of 3 343 046 inhabitants.
