the New Mutants are a group of superman pertaining to the universe of Marvel Comics.
The group is a derivative of the frankness X-Men, a version of new young people recruits, after the first team became independent with Factor-X.
“New Mutants” (original name) were created by Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod, in their own series, of 1983 to 1991, where they became X-Force.
A second named team New Mutants (this name applies only in the Marvel universe, like a kind of homage to the first group, of which Danielle Moonstar formed part). After 13 numbers, the series was renamed New X-Men: Academy X .
The 5 remained at the Institute to learn how to control their capacities, but of course, they knew other adventures. They fought against the Hellions, pendat of their group created by the Club of Damnés.
The ton of the series rather dark and was rather directed towards the mystical things. The series was popular but did not beat the sales of that of X-Men.
In 1986, Charles Xavier was replaced by a Magnéto wanting to amend itself, but the high ones did not trust him.
In 1987, the authors upset the team while making die Cypher and by renovating Magik. Novel members resulting from the X-Terminators replaced them.
In 1989, the New Mutants unloaded on Asgard and Mirage remained there as Valkyrie.
Between 1989 - where the sales dropped - and 1991, the author Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza integrated the project and imagined the continuation of the team, under the orders of Cable, with new characters (X-Force).
Rocket (Samuel Guthrie), a young peasant of Kentucky, invulnerable in its shape of human rocket.
Magik (Illyana Rasputin), the sister of Colossus, with the mystical capacities.
Rictor (Julio), being able to create seisms.
Prodigy (David Alleyne), the Co-leader, being able to make use of knowledge of any person in the vicinity.
