New Laws of robotics

The Nouvelles Laws of robotics are a derived version from the Three Laws of robotics.

They appear in the trilogy of Caliban , written by Roger MacBride Allen. This Trilogie is held in the universe of Isaac Asimov.

In these novels, the New Laws are created in order to correct the defects of the Three Laws, with an aim of making human the least dependant on the robots.

New Laws of robotics

  • New First Law : A robot cannot carry reached to an human being

  • New Second Law : A robot must cooperate with the human beings, except if such a co-operation is in contradiction with the First Law.

  • New Third Law : A robot must protect its existence, if this protection is not in contradiction with the First Law.

  • New Fourth Law : A robot can act with its own way, except if its actions are in contradiction with the First, the Second or the Third Law.
