New FIAT 500

Engine planned for 2008

It is about FIAT SGE - Small Gasoline Engine - new generation of petrol engines developed by FIAT Powertrain Technologies which comprises 2 overfed cylinders of 900 Cm3, delivering a power from 90 to 110 cv DIN. The valves are actuated by an electrohydraulic system controlling the variable lifting of the inlet valves.

A very sophisticated version of this engine can function with a fuel of new generation, a mixture made up with natural gas 70% and hydrogen 30%.

This engine was presented ahead first on a prototype FIAT Panda Aria to the living room of Frankfurt in October 2007. It will equip future FIAT Topolino in 2008.

Titles and Rewards
