New Edition
New Edition was a group of R&B American considered as most popular of the Années 1980.
Formed in Houston, Massachusetts in 1980, by the famous producer Maurice Starr, New Edition took again the receipt with success that at summer that of the Jackson 5, 5 teenagers Afro-américain S, including as leader Ralph Tresvant (born on May 16th, 1968) and Bobby Brown (born on February 5th, 1969) accompanied by the voices of Ricky Bell (born on September 18th, 1967), Michael Bivins (born on August 10th, 1968) and Ronnie DeVoe (born on November 17th, 1967).
The group has with its prize list of successes which were Numéro 1 of the sales in the United States like Cool It Now or Candy Girl but also Mr. Telephone man . The frenzy of the public for this group allowed to creation by the same producer of formations like the New Kids one the Block , Backstreet Boys or the Sync .
History of the group
Like the Jackson 5 before them, New Edition became a phenomenon of pop, enough large to have had Madonna in first part of their show at the time of the beginnings of the singer. The group separated from Maurice Starr in 1984 dates to which this one from goes away towards other conquests with the group New Kids one the Block formed of Blancs teenagers. In the neighborhoods of the year 1986, Bobby Brown was excluded from the group because of its problems of behavior at the time of the shows. Brown is then replaced by the child star of the R&B of the time, Johnny Gill (born on May 22nd, 1966). This change is a revolving essence in the career of the group. New Edition in the Nineties
New Edition separated in 1989 when Bell, Bivins and DeVOe decided to form the famous trio Hip Hop Bell Biv DeVoe (BBD). From this moment there, Ralph Tresvant began a career solo and Johnny Gill took again his with much success this time. In 1991, the group again met to record a remix song " Word To The Mutha" BBD; This project was the occasion to bring together the six members of the group during the turning of the clip.
In 1996, the six singers of New Edition find themselves to record the album " Again" home;. Although the album is of quality with titles like " Hit Me Off" , " I' m Still In Love" , and rate of sale more than honourable (it is the album which met the most success in their career), the round which follows barrel disastrous for the group. In the middle of this one, Bobby Brown and Mike Bivins decide to give up the adventure.
A few years after…
After one long period of silence, New Edition started in 2003 a round in the clubs and the casinos, but this time without Bobby Brown. It is then that they collected the attention of the famous producer Sean " P.Diddy" Combs which was presented to them at the time of one of their shows. Some time later, P.Diddy signs the group on its label Bad Boy Records. The group arises then with individual the " Hot 2Nite" who met little success. Pareillement for the album left to the autumn 2004 " One Love" , which proved to be a commercial failure. At this time there, the group was going soon to say goodbye to the adventure Bad Boy Records, indeed in an interview, Ricky Bell affirmed that Diddy refused to pay Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis for the song which they had carried out on the last album of New Edition. Sean Combs then informed the group that this one did not return any more in its budget. In other words, it is the divorce.
In 2005, New Edition filled of the rooms with other formations they such recomposed like Guy, BlackStreet and SWV. In the autumn of this same year, New Edition took part in the 25e birthday of the music channel Afro-American Study Bureau by interpreting a medley of their larger tubes this time with the enfant terrible of the R&B, Bobby Brown.
In January 2006, New Edition announced that the group wanted to leave a new album and programmed a round in 2008.
