Geography
New Britain is located at the west of the Pacific Ocean in the Mer of Solomon. It is between the New Guinea and the New Ireland. Having a length of approximately 600 km and a width of 80 km to the maximum, its surface measures 36 520 km ². The island includes/understands two provinces, the Western New Britain ( West New Britain , capital Kimbe) and the Eastern New Britain ( East New Britain , capital Rabaul) which includes also the islands of the Duke of York.New Britain is a very mountainous island with volcanic components and karstic. History
