Nevel
Nevel (Russian: Невель) is a city of the Oblast de Pskov, in Russia, located near Lac of Nevel at 242 kilometers at the South-east of Pskov. Its population, of 18.545 inhabitants in 2002, is in 2005 of 17.800.
Nevel for the first time mentioned among the cities which had been founded during the reign Ivan IV of Russia, was said Ivan the Terrible. It is thought that Nevel was founded during one time preceding 1580. It was yielded to the République of the Two Nations at the conclusion of the Guerre of Livonie, and returned to the Russia in 1772, when the statute of city was granted to him.
