in Nevada Solar One is a project of solar power station thermics in the desert of the Nevada, with the the United States of America. It started 15 years ago. The Powerplant is intended to be the third larger solar installation thermal in the world after those of the Désert of Mojave, in California. Able to produce up to 64 MW, it will be able to supply 40.000 hearths.
This project does not have any bond with the project in [[Solar One]] , a tower surrounded by mirrors: heat will be collected by 19.300 formed horizontal solar receivers of metal panels and glass, on a surface of: 12000 m ².
Just like in a conventional power station, the electricity of in Nevada Solar One is produced by pressurized vapor in Turbines which actuate generators. This vapor is produced by an exchanger crossed by a coolant heated with almost 400 degrees Celsius when it is exposed to the rays of the sun during its crossing of the solar receivers. A solar receiver consists of a parabolic mirror which will focus the solar rays on an absorbing tube covered with a special coating. It is in this tube that the coolant will circulate.
The project Nevada Solar One is in construction with Boulder City, Nevada by the Département of the Energy of the United States, in '' [[National Renewable Energy Laboratory]] '', and in '' [[Solargenix Energy]] ''. The project should start has to produce electricity which will be diffused on the network starting from June 2007.
According to the experts, the realization of the solar power station of Nevada could be well a world opening for the electrical production using technology thermosolaire. Additional projects are currently envisaged in the south-west of the United States, in Spain and in other areas of the world at fort Ensoleillement. It is envisaged to build the very first commercial solar power station very soon close to Grenade, with the foot of the Sierra Nevada in Andalusia. With a capacity of 50 MW, AndaSol I will be able to satisfy the requirements in electricity of more than 50.000 hearths, i.e. of more than 150.000 people.
