Neuville-on-Ain
Geography
6 km of Bridge-in Ain, 23 km of Borough-in-Bresse, an average altitude of 300 m with a culminating point with 423 meters, Neuville-on-Ain are located at the southern point of Revermont and in the most mountainous part of the canton.

The commune counted 957 inhabitants into 1982,971 into 1975,1522 into 1881,1040 in 1786.
Its surface is of 1979 hectares. The inhabitants of Neuville name the Neuvillois .
It is a " commune; verte" 739 ha of meadows, 539 ha of wood, 300 ha of grounds and vines (1986).
The river of Ain which limits it partly, with raising, then leaves the links of the Jura to become a river of plain. Suran with the many meanders the cross-piece of North in the South. The two valleys are almost parallel and enclose most of the commune. The plain of thol consists of glacial deposits fluvio (quaternary) while the rock parts, primarily in edge of the two valleys, are attached to Jurassic (secondary).
Of is in west, its territory is traversed by a section of a. 40 it is served by the D. 984 and the D. 42, the latter crossing it North-South in sui roughly vant the layout of an old Roman way connecting Lyon to the Germanic one.
One counts eight hamlets, namely Arthurieux, Châteauvieux, Fromente, Planche, Rappes, Résignel, Saint-Andrew and Thol.
The borough of Neuville is composed itself of two districts
- Neuville-le-Haut, or the city, gathered around the church and of the center town hall, school, village hall.
- The port, whose of course, the existence and the development were closely related to the river of Ain, district to which one can attach the few houses " under the tilleuls" and of Bosseron, these last located in edge of D.984.
