Neuville-in-Ferrain

Neuville-in-Ferrain is a common French, located in the department of the Northern (59) and the area Nord-Pas-de-Calais. Its inhabitants is called Neuvillois.

Geography

Frontier commune with the Belgium (town of Mouscron) and in France with Halluin, Roncq and Tourcoing.

History

Origins

Its name comes from Latin villa, (firm, agricultural domain), from nine (new construction with the Middle Ages), and from the name of the country, the ferrain (fertile ground).

XIIe and XIIe centuries
