Neustadt year der Weinstraße
Neustadt year DER Weinstraße , in French New city with wine trail (of 1414 to 1950 Neustadt year der Haardt in various orthographies, except 1935 to 1945 when the current name was already usué), is a German city and a district, located in the Land of the Rhineland-Palatinat.
It counts 50.000 habitants ; the city is called Perle of Palatinat . At at the beginning of October an important festival is held to with it of the wine. The privileged climate of this area is favourable with the animated life which reigns on the place of the market with its large fountain and in the commercial streets pedestrians. Many small places are decorated with modern fountains. The city, as its name indicates it ( Wein straße), cultivates grape and product of the wine.
Is a castle located not far from Neustadt. It is accessible conveys some but also by a forest path crossing a forest of chestnuts. It is the symbol of the German democracy. In 1832, many people went up towards the castle to assert their right to the freedom and the civil rights. The castle was entirely restored. It is interesting to visit for its history but also shelters demonstrations culturelles : exposures of paintings, concerts… and celebrates it birthday of 1832 (das Hambacher Fest).
History
An important garrison of the French Forces in Germany of the French Army was present in Neustadt year der Weinstraße until 1992. The last important unit of the garrison which replaced in 1978 the 6 {{E}} Régiment of Dragons, was the 2 {{E}} group of hunters. A French school as well as a city were intended to them.The object of the true belief went from argumentations out of weapons during the 17th century, and Palatinat was struck of a battle to another. The town of Neustadt was conquered six times during the Guerre Thirty Year old.
