Neung-on-Beuvron

Neung-on-Beuvron is a common French, located in the department of Loir-et-Cher and the area Center.

Geography

The historic site of Neung is located between two rivers: The Beuvron, and the Tharonne. By air sight, one can easily observe the circular form of old the opidum Roman.

History

Neung on Beuvron is famous being the Roman agglomeration of Noviodunum Biturigum, in which Vercingétorix and Jules César fought into -52. Some modest Roman vestiges would still exist. A Roman road going from Neung to Ferté-Beauharnais, always exists crossing the forest, known under the name of the " ways bas"

Jeanne d' Arc would have also passed by the village after the release of Orleans, in 1429.

On the church of the village two plates commemorate these two events.
