Network Tōkyō Subway

The network of the subway of Tōkyō (地下鉄 chikatetsu) is composed of several lines.

In the past called Teito Rapid Authority Transit (or Eidan Subway), this company took its new name Tōkyō Métro on April 1st, 2004. It currently manages the 8 following lines:
  • the line Ginza (銀座線) between Asakusa and Shibuya

  • the line Marunouchi (丸の内線) between Ikebukuro and Ogikubo on the one hand, and between Nakano-sakaue and Hônancho on the other hand.
  • the line Hibiya (日比谷線) between Kita-senju and Naka-meguro
  • the line Tozai (東西線) between Nakano and Nishi-funabashi
  • the line Chiyoda (千代田線) between Ayase and Yoyogi-uehara on the one hand, and Ayase and Kita) ayase on the other hand
  • the line Yurakucho (有楽町線) between Wakôshi and Shin-kiba
  • the line Hanzomon (半蔵門線) between Shibuya and Oshiage
  • the line Namboku (南北線) between Meguro and Akabane-iwabuchi

One 9th line, called line 13, is in the course of construction between the stations of Shibuya and Ikebukuro.
