The Network Centric Warfare is a concept popularized under the name of war in network and which appeared at the end of the 20th century in the Doctrine S Militaire S. Terme of American origin , it describes a manner of leading military operations by exploiting the capacities of the Information systems and the networks available at that time. The principal evolution compared to the former doctrines relates to the division of information.
It is a question of the capacity of connecting between them the various armies (marine ground, air, ) as well as the armies of combined countries, of recovering information thanks to Drone S, satellite S, of diffusing them in Real-time with the units in order to strike more quickly and more precisely.
Network Centric Warfare appeared with the the United States with the first war of the Gulf in 1991. The concept network-centric, initially developed by IBM and Boeing, initially extended to a whole consortium from industrialists, primarily American, data processing and armament: .
The information exchange between the speakers is obtained by means of a numerical Réseau.
Examples among others of this concept:
A Reconnaissance aircraft or monitoring locating an adversary can take the control of a air-to-air Missile drawn since a Fighter plan, which not using its Radar, can approach without being reference mark.
A ship like the futures Littoral combat ship detecting a sea-to-sea Missile can take the orders of the systems of weapons of another building being near the target.
The Net-Centric Dated Strategy (NCDS, 2003) defines three key elements:
NCDS introduces seven objectives with the data:

The French industrialists and specialists speak about Combat in network info-center but for the French ministry of defense, name selected is not technological, but operational.
One speaks then about Operational Bulle Aéroterrestre (BOA), which suggests a theater of operations where the terrestrial and air actions lend themselves assistance.
The Canadian Armed forces uses the term war centered on the networks .
It appeared after the First war of the Gulf that the war in network did not relate to only the battle field itself, but also preparation of military operations well before the battle. The network-centered concept thus naturally extended to the fields from scheduling, logistics, and management. One thus speaks about operations network-centered (in English Network centric operations, NCO).
Thereafter, the concept was extended gradually to all the companies of the Economic sectors Stratégique S like the energy, which use wide Data-processing networks through the world.
Claude Revel and Eric Denécé describes how the Gouvernement the United States supports the American companies with the Exportation with a policy d'" advocacy" , by employing new concepts of Technologies the information.
This strategy has a translation in the Gestion of the data.
In particular, it is vital to use Métadonnée S (catalogs, Registres of metadata), in order to facilitate the research and information divides it.

Eric J. Miller employs the Métadonnée S of the Dublin Core.
The movement of the Operations network-centered and the interconnections of many military systems towards a Total Information network (GIG) will increase the requirement in Sécurité on multiple level (MLS).
