Nestor (bird)

The species of the Nestor are birds of the family of the Psittacidae . It is composed of three species including one extinct. Their vernacular names are Kéa and Kaka or Nestors. The superb Kéa and nestors live in New Zealand, while the missing Nestor de Norfolk lived more in north, in the Île Norfolk. The species genetically nearest would be the Kakapo. The ancestors of the species of this kind and that of the kakapo would be to separate from the other Psittacidae , there is 15 My.
