Nesophontes edithae

The Nesophontes edithae form an extinct species as of the 16th century of Musaraigne living with Puerto Rico.

It is thought that the animal observed forever alive by Europeans. One estimates the date of his disappearance thanks to the fossils and to the artefacts of the autochtones. It disappeared after the introduction from the rat and probably because of the destruction of its forest habitat.
