Nerve trigeminal

The nerve trigeminal is the fifth pair of the cranial nerves whose role is driving for the chewing and sensitive teguments of the face.

Anatomy

The nerve trigeminal appears with the antéro-side face of the annular Protubérance of the cerebral Tronc in two beams, the large sensitive beam and a small driving beam. There is a nerve trigeminal for each hémi-face, therefore a right nerve trigeminal and a nerve on the left.

The origin of the nerve trigeminal is at the level of the gray cores of the protuberance. There are a core somato-engine depend on the cortico-nuclear ways, and a sensitive core sending of information on the ways lemniscales. The bodies of the sensitive neurons are located in the ganglion of Gasser (or ganglion trigéminal) just above the large wing of the Os sphénoïde and the posterior torn hole.

The nerve trigeminal moves forwards as of its exit of the cerebral trunk, passes above the rock of the temporal Os and is divided into three sensitive branches (of or the name of trigeminal nerve).

Ophthalmic nerve

The ophthalmic Nerve passing by the slit sphénoïde and leaving several collateral sensitive:
