Nenzlingen
Nenzlingen is a common Suisse of the canton of Basle-Countryside, located in the District of Laufon.
History
Located on the hills of the Blauen at the top of the Breeze, the area of Nenzlingen is inhabited for a very long time. It is indeed in a cave of the commune, named Birsmatten-Basisgrotte which was discovered, in 1944, a burial dating from the Stone Age and containing the female skeleton of oldest living Swiss territory.First written mention of the name of Nenzlingen date of 1298. In 1462, the évêché of Basle buys the area with the emperor Frederic III of the Holy roman Empire and gives it in old Baillif to the Zwingen family which will preserve it until in 1792 when France the appendix first of all at the République rauracian then, one year later at the department of the Mount-Terrible .
To the fall of the Empire, the Congrès of Vienna attaches the whole of the area to the Canton of Bern. Finally, the commune is attached to the canton of Basle-Countryside during the creation of this one, on January 1st, 1994.
Monuments
The village of Nenzlingen contains old a church Baroque dedicated to St.Oswald as well as an old public school. A little apart from the village is a famous point of view called Eggfluh as well as the Glögglifels , a block of eratic stone of more than five meters in height.
