Neneh Cherry
Neneh Cherry (born the March 10th, 1964 with Stockholm in Sweden) is a musician whose success rests on the mixture of the Hip-hop with other musical influences. His/her father-in-law, Gift Cherry, was a Trompettiste of Jazz celebrates born in the United States and deceased in 1995. He is especially known for his association with the saxophonist Ornette Coleman. Neneh is too also the sister of Eagle Eye Cherry musician him. She began her career after having given up the school and having moved with London.
She thus collaborated with various groups of before guard of the scene Post-punk of which the Slits, the collective New Age Steppers on the label of Dub One U Sound of Adrian Sherwood and especially RIP Rig & Panic, punk a post group impregnated of Free jazz often giving an impression first chaos and of spontaneism liberator. RIP Rig and Panic will publish three albums on the label Virgin and will change name (and of music) to become agreedst and funky Float Up CP publishing an album in 1985 when the production numerical than organic propose the rhythm section. At the same period one finds Neneh with the song on single the 45 lathes of GMC in company of her husband and father of the first of these three girls Bruce Smith (which was successively the beater of the Pop Group, of the Slits, of RIP Rig and Panic and Public Image Limited). In 2005, it took part in the project (studio and live) Demon Days of the collective Gorillaz. In 2006 one finds it within a group, CirKus, at the side of Karmil, Cameron Mcvey and of Lolita Moon with an album entitled Laylow . On scene the pleasure that the members of the group take to play and sing together is obvious and communicative. CirKus played in 2007 on the Parisian scene of the Elysium Montmartre.
