Nemed

In the Celtic Mythology of insular tradition, Nemed whose name means crowned, is the chief of the inhuman people which bears his name, the Nemediens, sometimes named “the people-stag”. In the mythical history of the Ireland, such as she is told to us in the Lebor Gabála Érenn (the Livres of the conquests of Ireland ), their occupation of the island is between that of the Partholoniens and that of the Fir Bolg. After one period of peace, they must resist the Fomoires which try to reconquer the island, the kings fomoires Gann and Sengann is beaten, but the enemies manage to assert themselves. Nemediens must pay them tribute each year. After a last revolt, they must flee in the province of Munster. Nemed is the son of Agnoman and the nephew of Tuan Mac Cairill; he is the father of Iarbonel the Soothsayer, Anniend and Fergus-with-side-Red.

Its name is to be brought closer to the name of the sanctuaries Celtes: the Nemeton.
