Nemawashi
Nemawashi (根回し) is an indicating Japanese Terme, in the culture of company Japanese E, an abstract process making it possible to quietly prepare a material change or a project while speaking with the people concerned and while trying to obtain their support and their adhesion.
A good nemawashi is regarded as an important component of any major change.
The literal translation of nemawashi is “to turn around the roots”, of 根 ( , root) and 回す ( mawasu , to turn around (of something)). Its French equivalent is thus “Cerclage”.
Nemawashi is often quoted as an example difficult to translate because it is deeply related to the Japanese Culture. A translation was given in the Années 1980 by the international consultant Mitchell Deutsch, with “the tree of the human relations”.
