Neil Jenkins , born the July 8th 1971 in Church Village, is old a British rugby player (Wales), evolving/moving mainly at the station of Demi of opening and also in three quarter centers.
It will remain in the history of Welsh Rugby thanks to its qualities of striker and play to the foot, who make of it the best realizer of the history of world Rugby. And this, in spite of the fact that he was not always the appointed striker.
He held the record of selections for Wales before being exceeded by Gareth Llewellyn. He always holds the record of the number of matches disputed as a half of opening.
He plays for the first time for the Welsh in 1991. In 1994, it gains the tournament of the 5 nations which escaped its country since 1988. But this good performance is followed by a rout the following year, wood spoon in the tournament and elimination at the time of the world cup.
In 1997, it takes part in the victorious round of the Lions in South Africa, series victorious to which it brings a share by converting 5 penalties in the 2nd test where the Lions gain against the Boks.
Then, at the time of the world cup of 1999, it exceeds the record of 911 points of Australian the Michael Lynagh and becomes the best realizer of the history. It will cross the bar of the 1.000 points against England at the time of the season 2001 to reach the total of 1049 at the end of its career.
Meanwhile, it will have taken part in a new round with the Lions, turned during which it will add one 4th selection, the station of half of opening being reserved for the young English Jonny Wilkinson.
