Neijiang (内江; Pinyin: Nèijīang) is a city of the province Sichuan in China. Its surface is of: 5386  km ² and its population of 4,2 million inhabitants.

The Olympic champion of judo, category less than 78 kg, Tang Lin (gold medal in 2000 in Sydney vis-a-vis the Frenchwoman Celine Lebrun) is originating in Neijiang.

Economy

It is an important center for the production of cereals and culture of output. Because of the traditional culture of the cane with sugar, the city is called “city with sugar”. The area also gave its name to a porcine race (Porc of Neijiang).

In 2005, total GDP was of 25,5 billion Yuan S, and the GDP per capita of: 6432 yuans .

Administrative divisions

The city-prefecture of Neijiang exerts its jurisdiction on five subdivisions - two districts and three counties  :
  • the district of Shizhong - 市中区 Shìzhōng Qū   ;
  • the district of Dongxing - 东兴区 Dōngxīng Qū   ;
  • the county of Weiyuan - 威远县 Wēiyuǎn Xiàn   ;
  • the county of Zizhong - 资中县 Zīzhōng Xiàn   ;
  • the county of Longchang - 隆昌县 Lóngchāng Xiàn .
