Negroamaro
The negroamaro is a Italian Cépage of black grapes.
Origin and geographical distribution
It comes from the south of Italy.It is classified auxiliary type of vine in DOC. Alezio, Brindisi, Canavese, Castelli Romani, Contea di Sclafani, Copertino, Cori, Etna, Faro, Galatina, Leverano, Matino, Nardo', Pinerolese, Rosso di Cerignola, Salice Salentino, Sambuca di Sicilia, Scavigna, Squinzano and Valsusa. It is classified recommended in Bari, Province of Brindisi, Foggia, Province of Lecce and Province of Tarente in the area of the Pouilles. In 1998, it covered 31.380 ha.

Farming aptitudes
Maturity is of third late time: 35 days after the chasselas.
Technological potential
The bunches and the bays are of intermediate size to large. The bunch is conical and compact (weight + 300 - 350 G). The wines are often vinified mixes some with the Malvasia will nera di Brindisi, the sangiovese and the montepulciano (type of vine)|montepulciano. Vinified only, the negroamaro gives a wine of red color garnet-red and average quality.
