Negative Film

A negative film is a photographic type of film where the recorded images have their values of Luminance and of Chrominance reversed compared to the image of origin. Considering this type of film is used the most, the term alone of negative often indicates (by extension) photographic films in general.

Negative image

A negative image is an image whose colors were reversed compared to the original one; for example the red becomes cyan, the green becomes magenta, blue becomes yellow and conversely. The dark areas become clear, the black becomes white.
