Nederhorst den Berg

Nederhorst den Berg is a village in the commune of Wijdemeren, pertaining to the province Holland-Septentrional Dutchwoman of . The direct village and its surroundings gather approximately 5.100 inhabitants (2005).

Before January 1st 2002, Nederhorst den Berg was an independent commune. On this date the old communes of Nederhorst den Berg, Loosdrecht and 's-Graveland amalgamated to create Wijdemeren .

As the name indicates it (in Dutch berg means mountain), the village was in the beginning on a high point in a curve of the river Vecht. The other part of the name comes from the name from the castle Nederhorst , located in the village.
