The Nebraska is a state of the center of the the United States, bordered in the west by the Wyoming, in north by the South Dakota, in the east by the Iowa and in the south by the Kansas and the Colorado.
History
Nébraska becomes the 37e state on March 1st, 1867.
Geography
Located in the Large plains, the State is primarily flat. However, the first buttresses of the Rocky Mountains vallonent the Western part. The East part is the theater of the vestiges of the withdrawal of the ices of the Period refrigerator.
The Missouri runs in the East thus forming the border with the Iowa and in North, the river Big Sioux form the border between Nebraska, the Iowa, and the South Dakota
Of a surface of 200 349 km ², Nebraska are populated of 1 711 263 inhabitants (2000).
The capital of Nebraska is Lincoln.

Nebraska is one of the most preserving states and more republican S of the country but also one of the least rich.
A republican bastion for the presidential elections
Nebraska is a bastion of the republicans. No democratic candidate carried it here at the time of the presidential elections since Lyndon Johnson (52,61%) in 1964.
At the time of the presidential election of 2004, the republican president George W. Bush obtained there 65,90% of the voices compared with 32,68% with the democratic candidate John Kerry.
An executive of the completely republican state
In 2005, the governor Mike Johanns entered the government of George W. Bush. Its successor at the post of governor is the republican Dave Heineman. The five other elected stations of the executive are held by republicans.
A local parliament monocaméral
