Nebbiolo

red Type of vine of which the high-class wines of the Piedmont are made up: Barolo and Barbaresco.

Origin and geographical distribution

It comes from the north of the Italy.

Studies DNA carried out by Anna Schneider and Jose Vouillamoz at CNR with Turin as with the the University of California with Davis showed that Nebbiolo is directly related with the Freisa whereas Freisa, for its part, is downward Viognier. It is classified auxiliary type of vine in DOC. Albugnano, Barbaresco, Barolo, Boca, Bramaterra, Canavese, Carema, Colline Novaresi, Colline Saluzzesi, Coste della Sesia, Fara, Gattinara, Ghemme, Langhe, Lessona, Nebbiolo d' Alba, Pinerolese, Roero, Sizzano, Ground di Franciacorta, Vallée of Aoste and Valtellina.
