Nayah , of its true name Sylvie Mestre, is a French Chanteuse.

After six years of studies to the musical academy and dramatic art of Perpignan, Nayah launches out in the song. She knew a certain celebrity in 1999 while being elected representing France for the contest of the Eurovision to Jerusalem.

Little before the organization contest Eurovision, a polemic bursts in the French press when its bonds with the Mouvement raëlien were revealed. Entered this movement following her husband, it had climbed the levels until becoming there priest assisting, that after having published a first disc in 1988 which took again the set of themes raëlienne. Although the singer affirmed to have left the movement raëlien since 1996, it followed a mobilization of associations anti-sects fearing that a victory offers a platform a little too visible with the movement raëlien and a certain media beating.

Nayah was not however prohibited to take part in the contest, where it took the 19th place on 22. It since reinstated the movement raëlien.

This episode was several times quoted by the movement raëlien as an example of the Ostracisme of which it would be victim.

Reversal of situation in 2005 with the publication of the e-book " Proud to be Raëlien". Nayah confirms that it left the movement raëlien forever. This information according to which it would have left the movement was built of all parts by its producer and his agent to occult the adhesion of Nayah to the movement. The newspapers do not have summers easily deceived. Here the consent of Nayah on the subject on page 145-146 of the book " Proud to be Raëlien":

In the beginning, when these damages started, my producer Georges Mary and my agent, Jacques Marouani, proposed to me to declare with the press which I was not active any more in the Mouvement raëlien, in order to devote me to my career, and to calm the things. Terrible decision which I have of taking with against heart. Some press articles showed the declarations which I had learned by heart. But the whole of the press refused to believe in it. And it is easy to imagine for an industry who nourishes controversy and sensationalism.
