Naves is a common French, located in the department of the Corrèze and the area the Limousin.
Geography
The commune of Naves is crossed by the Corrèze, the Solane, the Vigne, the Vimbelle and the Céronne. It is divided into 4 valleys including/understanding on their peaks of the hills: the valley of the Corrèze - Vimbelle, that of the Vine, that of the Solane and that of the Céronne
History
Located at the crossroads of the Roman way which connected the
Provence to the
Armorique and of that which connected Lyon to Bordeaux, Naves of the Celt Nave (plain, plate) was founded at the time Gallo-Roman at that time the village included/understood temples, a theater and much of other monuments. At the 6th century the borough developed following the abandonment of the site of Tintignac being organized around a castle whose today only the church remains. At the time Carolingian Naves is the seat of an important viguery and it is at this same period that the term of the church of Naves appears: St-Pierre-be-bonds. At the 13th century, Naves becomes prévôté. The provost of Naves indicated by the Tulle chapter has a role as well religious as administrative and legal. Its very important capacity the fact of becoming the " Lord of Naves". The borough of Naves is today in full growth thanks in
2002 on arrival of the Highway 89.
