Naval officer
A naval officer is a Officier intended to ensure of the functions of command and direction within a Navy.
A distinction is generally made between:
- the naval officers , general practitioners, having received a formation at the same time engineer (the Warship and systems of weapons), of marine (the Navigation and the Operation) and of officer (the exercise of the authority and practice of the operations) (and possibly of pilot in the case of naval aeronautics);
- and the naval officers , officers specialized in a particular field of expertise, of which, for example, police chiefs or doctors.
The body of the officers includes/understands three categories:
- the subalterns (ranks of sign and lieutenant - names: lieutenant and captain ). They ensure the direction of services aboard ships or ground or the command of small units;
- senior officers (ranks of vessel and frigate, lieutenant commander - name: commander ). They direct groupings of services on board buildings, order combat buildings or formations with ground or are useful in staff;
- general officers (ranks of rear-admiral, vice-admiral, the ranks and names of vice-admiral of squadron and admiral - name: admiral ). They order Naval forces or central managements of the marine.
