Naval college
The Naval college is the school of the Officier S of navy of the French National marine.
General information
Established in the south of the Roads of Brest to Lanvéoc - Poulmic, the Naval college is an establishment of higher learning which ensures in 4 years the initial training of the officers of the National marine, intended to occupy of the positions of responsibility on board the buildings of surface and the Sous-marins, the naval air force and the formations of marine fusiliers and commandos. The Naval college and its research institute are installed on a site of 100 hectares. The Naval college is ordered by the rear-admiral Pierre Sudan.The Naval college delivers the diploma for the occupation of engineer of the Naval college, and since 2002 a master in naval operations and maritime medium.
Each promotion of “bordaches” (of the name of the vessel Borda which accommodated the Naval college until in 1914) includes/understands approximately 90 pupils resulting from the external contest (CPGE) or intern with the navy, from a contest reserved the abroads, or recruited on titles.
1827-2007: 180ème birthday of the installation of the training of the naval officers in roads of Brest.

Slang of the Naval college
The slang of the Naval college is rich. Developed mainly starting from the maritime slang, it takes again today also expressions of the other military universities (Polytechnic school, military special École of Saint-Cyr military school, and Flying school), and military Lycées.
The Naval college is indicated under the term of " Baille". The pupils and former students are the " bordaches" (of Jean-Charles of Bordered, sailor and scientist, after which was named one of the first training ship.). With not confusing with the " navalais" who are the pupils of the École of naval Health (today École of the department of health of the armies of Bordeaux).
History
Heiress of the companies of guards of the Navy of the Old Mode, the Naval college, founded with the Restoration, is initially established with Angouleme, in the honor of the son of the future Charles X, Louis Antoine d' Artois titrated duke of Angouleme. In 1831, it is transferred to Brest, on a Navire-école, the Orion . The school will remain embarked until in 1914, date on which it is transferred to ground. It is located today at the south of the roads of Brest, with Lanvéoc.

Theater at the Naval college
Each year, a theater company is made up at the Naval college. Under the direction of the various French professors, it joins together 3 promotions in progress at the Naval college: fistots, candidates and signs. In general, three representations are envisaged: Brest, Baille, and Paris.
In 2007, the troop played the Turkey of Feydeau, which gained one big hit.

The application campaign (GEAOM)
The eighth six-month period, which actually lasts a little more than five months, is the occasion for the officers to embark on a unit in service. " fistots" (pupils of first year of naval college) had already known a first amarinage at the time of the exits at sea on training ship (standard " Leopard "). The Naval college: relations with the foreign schools

Partnership with the German Naval college: The Cursus EFENA (French Pupil of the German Naval college) is opened with titular French of the baccalaureat Scientifique, controlling the German Langue with the writing and the oral examination. Recruited by the national marine as a pupil officer, the EFENA will follow its course to Germany.

After this formation, the EFENA serves the national marine in the same way that the officers leaving the naval college (cf career of the bordache starting from the rank of EV1).
