Natural reserve of the delta of Dranse
The Natural reserve of the delta of Dranse was created in 1980, on the site of the delta of the river of the Dranse. It is located at the east of Thonon-the-Baths, on a small surface of 53 hectares, between 372 and 380 meters of altitude, and offers an incomparable botanical richness.
Last wild lake delta of banks of the Léman, made up from alluvia, sands, gravels and rollers, formant of the strikes and the small islands, modelled and reorganized with the wire of believed of a torrential river, it results an expansion from it from different natural environments very rich in fauna and Flore, sheltering:
- nearly 750 interesting plant species of which Orchis S;
- more than 200 species of Bird X - only site of nesting of the Tern pierregarin for all the upstream reservoir of the the Rhone, it is the southernmost point where niche the common Gull;
- of many species of Reptile S and Amphibian S represented also well;
- of the beaver S also installed on its banks.
