The natural reserve of the Small valley of the Fish pond is a natural space protected located on the commune of Tancarville in Seine-Maritime. This Natural reserve of approximately eight hectares consists of Marais around the Rivière of Tancarville and brood in a Vallon. The site was acquired by the Department of the Environment in 1978; it is managed by the Regional natural park of Brotonne. It is currently equipped with the Voluntary statute of Natural reserve.

Visit

The reserve is located close to the Pont of Tancarville: by leaving his vehicle on the carpark of Tancarville-Bas, the hiker can go up the small valley by taking a way which skirts the brook. Hunting and fishing are prohibited. The path of the GR2 radiates starting from the small valley in the wood of Hèse and of Sente to the Wolves. The circuit is marked out and charted on

Fauna and flora

The natural environment is characteristic of the timbered chalky slopes and the marshes. Along the footpath, one can see Buis, Charme S, If S and Noisetier S. the Saule S, the Frêne S and the Aulne S colonized the central small island. The roselière consists of Phragmite S, of Glycérie S, Touradon S, Laîche S of the marshes… The rarest plants are the green Hellebore, the Théliptéride of the marshes and the Orchidée S.

The Fox, the Sitelle, the Teal of winter, the Brush garzette and the Tawny owl populate the wooded areas. The marshes are occupied by the Bécassine, the water rail, the watery Musaraigne. The river is the field of the Héron S, ducks, the martins-fishermen, the triton S and various fresh water fish species.
