Natural park of Cabo of Spoiled-Níjar
The natural park of Cabo of Spoiled-Níjar is in comarque Cabo de Gata located in the Province of Almería (Spain). He was declared Natural park in 1987, and was the first maritime-terrestrial natural park of the country. It is probably the only space of Mediterranean coast remained virgin. Many endemic plant species Xérofites are met and, recently this protected space became a sanctuary of the European fauna.
The composition of the ground is primarily made up of sedimentary rocks , (Sable S, etc) coming from sea-beds, but also from volcanic rocks arising various ways, like columns, bombs (geographical accident), organics, etc…).
For these reasons and other characteristics the park is declared Réserve biosphere by UNESCO.
In the natural park, is the locality of Rodalquilar, and the Botanical garden of Albardinar .
