A native element is a Minéral composed of only one chemical element naturally present in the Earth's crust. The native elements constitute the first mineral class of the systems of classification of Dana or Strunz.

This class includes/understands approximately 108 species and varieties, divided into three subclasses:

• metals (money, Copper, Gold, Platinum);
• semi-metals (Antimony, Arsenic, Bismuth, Tellurium);
• Metalloid S (Diamond, Graphite, Sulfur).
