Native element
A native element is a Minéral composed of only one chemical element naturally present in the Earth's crust. The native elements constitute the first mineral class of the systems of classification of Dana or Strunz.
This class includes/understands approximately 108 species and varieties, divided into three subclasses:
- metals (money, Copper, Gold, Platinum);
- semi-metals (Antimony, Arsenic, Bismuth, Tellurium);
- Metalloid S (Diamond, Graphite, Sulfur).
History of discovered native elements and civilizations
The majority of the native elements are rare or very rare, except for some native metals, which played a big role in the birth of the Civilization S. The native Fer is of origin meteoritic.
