Native (Rio Grande C Norte)

Capital of the State of the Rio Grande C Norte, Natal is a city located at Nort-Is Brésil, at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. The city counted, in 2007, 801.752 inhabitants divided on a surface of 170 km ². The agglomeration natalense (formed by the towns of Parnamirim, Macaíba, São Gonçalo C Amaranth, Ceará-Mirim, Extremoz, Nísia Floresta, São Jose de Mipibu and Natal) has nowadays: 1240734 inhabitants. With its tropical climate, the Ville of the Sun (as it is called) has an average temperature of 25ºC and a thermal amplitude which does not exceed the 10ºC with the length of the year.

After having profited from the industry of salt at the 19th century, Natal is carried today by the industry of the Tourisme, of which its principal attraction is incontestably the Fortress of Kings Mages, built by Portuguese in XVIe century.

At the beginning of the 20th century Natal was a stage of the epopee of the Aéropostale (section Dakar - Native)
