Nationalsozialistischer Führungsoffizier

The rank of Nationalsozialistischer Führungsoffizier ( NSFO ) appointed in the Wehrmacht during the Second world war the officer-instructors in national-socialisme.

The rank of NSFO was created by a “order of FührerAdolf Hitler the December 22nd 1943. These officers had as a task to teach the Idéologie Nazi with the soldiers within the framework of exposed and discussions. That with an aim of on their premises reinforcing the will to fight until the end.

Manpower were chosen by the personnel departments of among the officers of Wehrmacht. They were however to be confirmed in their functions by a commission established by the chief of the chancellery of the party (in German, the Parteikanzleichef ) Martin Bormann. This commission chaired by Wilhelm Ruder had as a role to check that these men were " without spot " within the meaning of national-socialisme.

At the end of 1944, there were approximately 1100 NSFO of full exercise and 47000 NSFO auxiliary.
