The National university of Congo , famous National university of Zaire (UNAZA) in 1972, is a regrouping of Université S of the Democratic republic of Congo which existed of 1971 with 1981.

This regrouping was carried out following the Ordinance-law n° 71/075 of the August 6th 1971. In 1972, the Ordinance-law n°72/002 of the January 12th 1972, re-elects the National university of Congo in National university of Zaire .

In 1981, the Decision of State n° 09/CC/81 of the June 3rd and the Ordinance-Law n° 25/81 of October 3rd, bearing on the creation of autonomous public corporations of teaching, create several universities, and thus divide the regrouping.
