National union of the catholic teachers

The National union of the catholic teachers (SYNECAT) is a trade union of professionals of the teaching of the circuit of Catholic schools to the Congo (Kinshasa). Its general secretary is Jean-Bosco Puna (September 2005).

This trade union is in particular responsible for the strikes of the teaching of September 2005 with the SYECO against the ministry for Primary school education, Secondaire and Professional, following the end of the contributions of the parents to the wages of the teachers. This strike asserts the payment of the wages of July 2005 and the application by the government of the third stage of the Accord of Mbudi. This strike made follower with the strike of the public administration.
